We have just framed these wonderful designer playing cards (the “Maison de jeu” set) by Christian Lacroix.
They have all been individually float mounted, which involved using oblong shapes of foam board under each one, smaller than the outer measurements of the cards, to lift them off the backing board, but not visible, to give the shadow effect.
These are then laid out on the backing board and accurately located and stuck down by using measured and cut lengths of foam board as spacers.
The spacers are then moved, row by row until all the cards are adhered in place.
A deep frame was used, with a fillet to keep the glass away from the playing cards.
