Float Mounting with Spacers

Artwork is usually held flat by the glass in a frame, but kept away from actually touching the glass by the window mount.

As an alternative, artwork, especially work on bumpy media, may look better stuck down to the back mount and then with the glass kept away from the artwork by a “fillet” (or “spacer”).

When this is done with a deep frame, then the artwork can be held to the back of the frame, which can look very effective.
