This pair of paintings on board were painted by Alice for her mum who encourages her children’s artistic talents. This colourful pair are headed for pride of place in her kitchen.
The problem with paintings on board or thin pieces of wood, is that as the paint dries it tends to shrink and can warp the substrate. Although there was a small amount of warping to one of the paintings, but the frame was strong enough to straighten it out.
Alice chose a simple matt black frame, which matches perfectly with the lack in the paintings. It does a simple but effective job as that is all that is necessary with these bright and cheerful paintings.
